TI-MYTT 250hr Modules
-
The 50 hour intensive is the foundation of MOTA’s teacher training. This is a training for all students and teachers of yoga to cultivate the ability to tune into their bodies, express agency and feel empowered to engage in the practice of yoga in community. During this training we will uncover the innate tools you have within yourself to find options that feel accessible to you, learn about functional anatomy and yoga theory, navigating safe and inclusive yoga spaces and how to nurture a home practice. This training is a space to dive deeper as a student of yoga and begin to articulate how you would like to show up as a leader in wellness spaces.
This training is held from February to June every year. Registration for the next 50 hour opens this fall.
More info HERE.

The 100 hour training weaves together the foundations from the 50 hour training and continues to break down what it means to be a lifelong practitioner of yoga. Through the lens of embodiment you will learn how to hold trauma-informed spaces, incorporate anatomy into your classes, how to sequence, build your brand and how to embody yoga. This training will incorporate new teachers and teachings to continue the path of learning and diversify perspectives. You do not have to take the 50 hour training to sign up for this module. There are no prerequisites.
This training runs from September to January every year. Registration opening for the fall soon.

Think of the rolling modules as electives. They are learning opportunities to diversify your perspectives and learn from all of the very unique and intellectually diverse teacher trainers at MOTA. The rolling modules are space for trainees to start to focus in on a realm of wellness they’re passionate about leaning into, as well as learning new things.
These modules will be released on a rolling basis. Each module is 5 hours long and will help you develop your personal practice and teaching style.

The mentorship modules are designed to support you in the direction you would like to take your wellness career or personal practice. Whether that is through the lens of teaching group classes, working one on one with clients, incorporating new practices into your already existing career or understanding how this practice supports your human experience. The mentorship is where you get to nerd out and continue to lean into your passions to figure out your niche when it comes to teaching and living your yoga.
Two different paths:
Mentorship - Career in Wellness
Studentship - Deepening Self Study
Mentorship happens on a rolling basis, the next round of mentorship opens this fall, learn more about it HERE.
-
Throughout the course of the 250H program with MOTA each student will learn to truly embody the practice of Yoga. 30 hours of practicum and or self-study will be done on the students own time (no extra cost) but utilize 30 hours of time over the training journey to dive deeper in teaching, practicing and embodying all aspects of yoga.
You will choose your path of studentship or teaching and decide how you’d like to complete your 30 hours of practicum or teaching. To complete this training both paths will require a written 10 page paper. The paper will be due one month after the training is complete.
For students it will be a topic of your choice in relation to your experience and what you've embodied through this training.
For teachers, it will be a research paper on your path of study.
-
All sections listed above are required to obtain the TI-MYTT Certification.
Upon completion of the training, you will connect with you mentor to decide if you want to join MOTA’s sublist for subbing our studio classes or if you’d like to pursue a different path.
All rolling modules can be taken two times maximum through the duration of the training.
If you do not complete the training course within two years of the start of your first module, you will have to retake the 50 hour foundations course.
This training will offer in-person, hybrid offerings & recorded video content
You are required to take 90% of this course in person. If you miss more than 2 weekends of a training module, we will connect to find a way to keep you on track of your training program.
If you are on an auto-renew, members can put their membership on hold during the training.
All class cards expire at the end of the corresponding training period
Papers are due 1 month after training is complete.
MOTA’s teacher training program is designed to complete your journey in about two years; give or take. We have created this timeline in the hopes of deeply embodying this practice so that the western norms of productivity, hopefully, can take a back seat. We believe that urgency culture has run its course and we’d like to settle deeper into the practice of letting this training be one of leisure. We hope that it will give you space to learn at your own pace and that it will support the work/life/play balance.
This training is designed to fit your life and offer you time to embody the practice of Yoga. This takes time and we hope that you feel grounded and ready to lead classes in the most authentic version of yourself and/or, follow new paths within your self study.
