Join Monia for an empowering Yoga Nidra practice designed to provide deep rest and restore your nervous system. Through the practice of yoga nidra, you'll explore the delicate balance between the body's rest-and-digest mode (the parasympathetic nervous system) and its fight-or-flight mode (the sympathetic nervous system).
By guiding your awareness inward and cultivating a state of wakeful relaxation, this session will guide you deeper in the journey of regulating your autonomic nervous system - the part that controls all the involuntary functions in your body like breathing, heart rate, and digestion. Led with a trauma-informed lens, this workshop offers a safe, inclusive space for BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and dynamically disabled/disabled folx to experience the integrative benefits of this profound meditative practice. Leave feeling grounded, replenished, and reconnected to your innate wholeness. All levels are always welcome.
What to bring & wear:
Comfy clothes like yoga clothes, sweats or pjs. Any self care practices that you feel support rest!
What to expect:
In this Yoga Nidra session, you'll be guided through a deeply restorative practice of conscious relaxation. By turning your awareness inward, you'll find refuge in the balance between your body's rest-and-digest and stress response systems. Come away feeling grounded, replenished, and reconnected to your wholeness. We will open with movement to settle any remaining activity in our bodies to then settle into stillness for the duration of our time together.
