During this retreat we will connect to understand the pillars of community while simultaneously cultivating deep rest internally. Farewell Party
THANK YOU <3
With a heavy heart and a grounded spirit, I share that our MOTA will close its doors on March 31, 2025. This decision comes after deep reflection, and while transitions are bittersweet, I’m ready for this next chapter.
For nearly four years, this space has been one of healing, connection, and growth. I’m endlessly grateful for each of you—our students, teachers, and community—who have made this possible. 1,324 days without loans is a testament to your unwavering support. While this space at 11 Bow St. can no longer uphold the safety and values we cherish, I remain committed to my work—offering yoga, teacher trainings, and expanding my role as a postpartum doula for queer and BIPOC families.
To our teachers—past and present—thank you for holding space so graciously. To our students, I hope you continue to support these incredible teachers and carry our community’s spirit forward.
Let’s celebrate together one last time! Join us for a Farewell Party on March 29, 2025, from 4:30–6:30 PM. Let’s dance, connect, and honor the space we’ve built together.
We will be selling the props, plants, and furniture! If there is something you’d like to request in advance or donate to adopt as your MOTA memorabilia, you can email me at wellness@MOTAboston.space.
If you’re on our newsletter - check your emails for the full story. If you’re not, sign up for our newsletter at the bottom of the page to see what we’re up to next!
If you have questions about logistics, you probably have an active account with us and those details are in your email if not, email me! monia@motaboston.space

*Free* Community Health Talk: Pelvic Health
Massachusetts General Hospital Urogynecology and Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy Presents:
Research indicates that one in three women will experience a pelvic health condition in their lifetime, with incidence increasing with age. Unfortunately, significant disparities in access to pelvic health care persist, especially in communities of color. This gap is one we have witnessed firsthand, and it has inspired us to secure research funding for 25 educational seminars across neighborhoods in Boston. Our goal is to empower communities to seek care, advocate for health resources, and address common but often overlooked health concerns. This research study is being done to understand help seeking behaviors for Urogynecologic and Pelvic issues, identify barriers to seeking care for these conditions, and identify medical education gaps and their influence on help seeking.

5th Annual Divine Feminine Retreat w/ Monia Fernandez
All Inclusive
5th Annual Divine Feminine Retreat
Friday 2/14/25 - Monday 2/17/25
Sky Meadow Retreat is built on an original 115-acre homestead in Vermont’s rugged and remote Northeast Kingdom. It was settled around 1850 and served as a family farm and homestead for 100 years. The magnificent Retreat Barn was then used as a dairy barn, an operation supported by the nearby railroad then in service.
Join Monia for the fifth annual retreat in the stunning Northern Vermont, where we’ll dive deep into the essence of divine feminine energy. This retreat is all about self-love, body care, and intuitive movement for the mind. You don’t need to identify as a woman or have a partner to embrace the feminine energy we all possess.
Throughout our time together, we’ll create a nurturing space for connection and creativity, celebrating community and self-embodiment. We’ll awaken our bodies to ignite our divine energy, allowing us to express our insights through creativity and sound. Together, we’ll build a supportive village, engaging in art, cooking, and profound self-restoration.
With the energizing vibes of the Full Moon in Leo, we’ll tap into our expressive nature and explore new depths of connection. Are you ready to deepen your relationship with your divine feminine energy? Join us for this transformative experience!
For my BIPOC babes, save $100 on any rate <3

Join Monia for an empowering Yoga Nidra practice designed to provide deep rest and restore your nervous system. Through the practice of yoga nidra, you'll explore the delicate balance between the body's rest-and-digest mode (the parasympathetic nervous system) and its fight-or-flight mode (the sympathetic nervous system).
By guiding your awareness inward and cultivating a state of wakeful relaxation, this session will guide you deeper in the journey of regulating your autonomic nervous system - the part that controls all the involuntary functions in your body like breathing, heart rate, and digestion. Led with a trauma-informed lens, this workshop offers a safe, inclusive space for BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and dynamically disabled/disabled folx to experience the integrative benefits of this profound meditative practice. Leave feeling grounded, replenished, and reconnected to your innate wholeness. All levels are always welcome.

Join us every Wednesday at MOTA for Peaceful Pomodoro Work Sessions. Bring along any (low-mess) art projects you’ve been putting off, tackle those applications, pay your bills, or actually on remote work. The opportunities for productivity are endless! TI-MYTT 5H Module: Restorative Yoga: Settling into Rest
What does it mean to be trauma informed? Often the response to this question is to offer practices like restorative yoga, no hands on assists and doing everything possible not to trigger someone. These are wonderful practices to start with if you’re new to teaching yoga but that barely scratches the surface.

Endometriosis & Chronic Pain Affinity Yoga
This is a space for endometriosis and chronically pained people to come together in community. This space is here to share stories, offer support for one another and come together to hold space for one another. During this time we will have a prompt to speak around and mini break out groups to dive deeper into conversations.
As a disclaimer, this is not a formal support group. We want to offer space to come together but to be mindful of the individual capacities we all have to care for one another. We will start the session with community guidelines and introductions then move into our storytelling & community time.
If you find you need further support around mental health or are experiencing severe life threatening pain, please be sure to connect with a mental health professional to make sure you are getting the support you need.
Rolling Modules for our Trauma Informed Teacher Training
We’re recharging during this time to come back ready to dive back into our training program! Enjoy yourself! If you’d like to suggest topics for our modules, send us an email on what you’d like to learn more about!
