Class Style Summaries

  • An affinity group is a safe space for people linked by a common identity. These classes are lead by people who identify with that specific community space.

Dependent on the teacher, the class format can shift, but there will always be space for community discussions. Check out the “Community Spaces” description to learn more!

  • This is a space to share stories, offer support and come together to hold space for one another within a common identity.

During this time there will have a prompt to speak towards in one large group or in mini break out groups to dive deeper into insightful conversations.

  • During our heated classes, the room temperature is set to 90 degrees. The flows are slower to offer a deeper breath awareness in relationship to finding balance within.

There is a water dispenser in the back hall with cups incase you forget your water bottle.

At any moment in these classes if you’d like to sit down, lay down or step out, there is always space to do so.

  • Mat Pilates focuses on strengthening muscles, lower back, pelvic floor, hips, glutes, and abdominals through a series of exercises.

During these classes, teachers will make use of weights and resistance bands to refine the exercises offered. These classes can stimulate internal heat and isolated strength.

  • Restorative classes come in all different styles. When trying to explore which restorative classes might align with what you’re looking for, please make sure to read the descriptions. Some might offer very gentle movement with lots of props - like the 7:30p on Wednesdays. Where others might offer more space for journaling and meditation - like the Monday 7p.

Either way, these spaces are slower ad offer more internal awareness to rest your physical body.

  • Strong Foundations focuses on grounding and strength-based foundations. These classes focuses on taking time to find the right alignment and connect with specific muscles. This is a Vinyasa style class.

  • The MOTA Flow is a set sequence with mini flows and short holds. The sequence stays the same each time so that you as the student, can begin to add in different versions of the postures (asanas) that you feel best suits your practice. Each class you will receive a card with the names of the postures in english and Sanskrit.

Sanskrit, the language of yoga, is the sacred language of Hinduism, the language of classical Hindu philosophy, and of historical texts of Buddhism and Jainism.

  • a method of yoga in which asanas (postures) form a flowing sequence in coordination with the breath.

  • Be sure to check out the individual classes on the schedule for full descriptions!

We have occasional Sound baths and Restorative classes on Sundays when teachers offer to teach them. 1x a month we have a Restore + Yoga Nidra (This practice is sometimes called yogic sleep) and Sound Baths on first Saturdays.

  • We would recommend signing up for a one on one Postural Assessment.

During these sessions you will work with a teacher so that you can develop tools to feel more comfortable and confident on the mat. The teacher will help guide you with the use of props to support the different postures in your body. The teacher will also recommend classes for you to take based on the time you spend together!

  • Wear clothes you feel comfortable in. During any of the studio classes you may be laying down, seated in different positions, in standing forward folds or balancing on one foot.

Wear clothes that are loose but not too loose. You want to be able to move freely without having to adjust your shirt or pants too much.

If you’re unsure, start with jogging pants or workout pants with a t-shirt.

Socks! You’re welcome to wear socks but sometimes doing yoga in socks on a yoga mat can be slippery. Good news is, you can take them off and put them on at any time!

Bring water and a yoga mat. We do have a few mats in studio free of charge, but it is not guaranteed we will have enough for everyone.

  • Our teachers all have their own personal preference to offering hands on assists. Some teachers love incorporating the practice and some aren’t comfortable offering it.

At the beginning of every class, the teacher will provide you with a consent card. One side will be yellow and will offer the option to choose that you do not want hands on assists or personal verbal cues. The other side will be teal, this side will offer the option that you are open to hands on assists and personal verbal cues.

We would love to give a third option for no hands on assists but personal verbal cues are okay but we aren’t the best with origami! For now our cards just have two sides.

At any point during the class you can flip your card over if you change your mind.

You might see this duo popping in and out of the studio! Monty is Monia’s fur child and is usually right by her side. She’s super cute & timid (Both Monty & Monia). She might say hello or run back to Mom for snuggles and pets!
