We will begin to learn the foundations of how to integrate props into your yoga practice with guidance of the Trauma Informed MOTA Yoga Teacher trainees. We will introduce unconventional ways to empower your practice. This workshop will encourage change within the narrative of fine lines & deep flexibility to have a "beautiful" practice. We will provide the time and space for self exploration in each asana (pose), to check in with physical cues to allow your body to rest peacefully in full relaxation, and clue in to your emotional and energetic state.
What to bring & wear:
It would be helpful to wear clothes that have distinctive seams, color blocking and/or lines. The clothes do not need to be tight or fitted. Stripes and patterned clothes work well too! This is helpful to see the direction your body moves within the asanas (postures). Please bring your manuals and any materials needed to support your education.
What to expect:
Trainees should expect to learn niche tips and tools to guide students safely into postures with both language and physical touch. Practitioners should expect to learn creative ways to support themselves in asana (postures) through the use of props & subtle (energetic) body engagement.
Instructors:
Monia Fernandez & Francesca Focarelli
TI-MYTT 5HR Modules are eight of 13 modules needed for the completion of the 250HR certification program. You can start with this module or continue on your path through the program. The first three hours of the module is where we nerd out with the teachings and lectures. We will take a 30m lunch break and reconvene with the workshop portion of the module. These last two hours are opened up to the general public//students to practice the teachings of the instructor. This is where you, the trainee will see how to put the nerdy fun stuff in action to students wanting to experience the offering rather than being trained in it. You do not need to be enrolled in the full program to take any portion of the module or workshop :) In total there are 8, 5H modules needed to take to complete the certification program for the 250H Trauma Informed MOTA Yoga Teacher Training. You can take the same module up to two times.
