Lead Instructor: Monia Fernandez Learn More About Her!
Join Monia in this 5h module, a module in our Trauma Informed Teacher Training Program, in the vast practice of restorative yoga. During this module we will settle into rest with yoga nidra, play around with the idea of active rest & how it’s crucial to practice within the societal structure we live in and the foundations of restorative yoga.
We will explore mediation and our relationship with silence - do you know when less is more?
Through the lens of the eight limbs, the essence of Yoga, and a trauma informed theory, Monia will help you start to cultivate (or deepen) your own relationship with restorative yoga and how it can be a transformative practice for yourself and the folks that you lead.
Within practices of restorative yoga, it is common for people to avoid it due to the possible presence of disassociation or being within stillness for long periods of time. As we always say, we cannot 100% trigger-proof a space but we can provide tools to make the space safer, braver.
