Are you suffering from back pain, especially due to long periods sitting at a desk? Twisting postures are known to alleviate compression of the spine and bring relief into our backs. In this workshop we’ll discuss the three key areas of our spine, the anatomy of a twist, and the various twisting postures used in yogic practices. As we create firm and strong foundations through our class, we’ll lengthen our spines and strengthen our back muscles, revolutionizing our practices! During this workshop we’ll also take time to journal about the more difficult side of revolutions. We’ll answer the questions: What are you avoiding or twisting away from in your life? What are the calm and grounded ways to face realities that are difficult?


What should the students expect? Expect yoga anatomy tutorials based on the areas of our bodies that need lengthening and strengthening in order to revolve smoothly. We will also engage in journaling exercises that inquire about tough realities you may be avoiding, including prompts to problem solve in a grounded and supportive way.
